Cost-Free Connectivity for Kids™ is an award-winning educational technology program that transforms K-12 schools into community connectivity hubs, ensuring every student has seamless access to digital learning resources both in school and at home. This program addresses the critical challenge facing 15-17 million American students who lack reliable internet access for distance learning and homework completion.
Connectivity for Kids extends the school's network into students' homes, giving families free internet with the same experience as in the classroom. It integrates with school platforms, provides coverage up to 1.5 miles from campuses, and may include parental controls for safe use.
How It Works
Community Asset Optimization
Wireless equipment and antenna systems are strategically installed on rooftops of K-12 schools, public libraries, community anchor institutions, and other elevated structures on public property.
Strategic Coverage Extension
From the school's central location, multiple wireless technologies provide neighborhood coverage, including public Wi-Fi with parental controls and usage caps, private LTE/CBRS systems for premium connectivity on compatible devices, and a multi-technology approach that ensures access for all families and device types.
Educational Platform Integration
Students have consistent access to their digital learning environment at school, home, or on the bus through secure intranet connections. A learning management system also provides access to assignments, digital textbooks, and video conferencing for remote learning and parent-teacher meetings.
